At Saint James’ Episcopal School (SJES), our faculty and staff consider their work a true calling. Rooted in Episcopal values, we foster a joyful, inclusive environment that emphasizes service, compassion, and respect. We celebrate individuality, encourage creativity, and integrate spiritual formation into every aspect of the educational experience. As a Christian-based, independent school with a rich tradition of academic excellence and community engagement, we are dedicated to nurturing the whole child—mind, body, and spirit.
Joining our team means becoming part of a mission-driven community that values innovation, collaboration, and the joy of learning. Whether in the classroom, on the playground, or behind the scenes, every member of our staff plays a vital role in shaping the lives of our students and contributing to a school culture that is both nurturing and inspiring.
The Elementary Teacher at SJES is responsible for creating an engaging, developmentally appropriate, and supportive learning environment that nurtures the spiritual, physical, emotional, cognitive, and social growth of each student. This role requires a dedicated, compassionate, and adaptable educator who values the whole-child approach and fosters academic curiosity, creativity, and character development in alignment with the school’s mission and values.
Teachers at SJES are expected to plan and implement curriculum-based instruction, assess student progress, maintain positive classroom management, communicate regularly with families, and collaborate with colleagues and administrators to support student success.
At Saint James’, we invest in our people. In addition to competitive independent school compensation, full-time employees are eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including health and retirement plans. We also prioritize professional growth through meaningful learning opportunities and offer additional benefits such as tuition remission and reduced rates for Extended Day and Summer Camp programs for eligible families.
