What You’ll Do
As a member of our Upper School faculty, you will teach a range of courses including traditional history offerings as well as Economics and Personal Finance and Entrepreneurship for students in grades 9–12. The Entrepreneurship course features a dynamic culminating project, Saints Tank, inspired by the television show Shark Tank.
More importantly, you will:
Design engaging, student-centered lessons that spark curiosity and discussion
Help students connect historical events to the modern world
Create meaningful projects and assessments that deepen understanding
Foster critical thinking, analysis, and perspective-taking
Build a classroom environment where students feel supported, challenged, and inspired
Serve as an advisor to a small group of students, guiding them academically and personally
Partner with families through clear and consistent communication
Collaborate with colleagues across departments and divisions
Support students beyond the classroom through mentoring, extra help, and school life
What We’re Looking For
We’re searching for someone who brings energy, creativity, and a genuine love for working with adolescents. Our ideal candidate:
Has a degree in History, Secondary Education, or a related field
Has experience teaching Upper School History (independent school experience is a plus)
Embraces a student-centered, discussion-driven approach to learning
Is comfortable integrating technology into the classroom
Values collaboration and contributes positively to a team environment
Communicates effectively with students, families, and colleagues
Is organized, proactive, and eager to grow professionally
Understands the importance of educating the whole child
