Norfolk Collegiate School seeks a Long-Term French Substitute Teacher beginning in April 2026 through the conclusion of the 2025–2026 school year. This position will teach five French classes spanning Levels I through V, including AP French.
The ideal candidate will have experience teaching French at the upper school level, demonstrate strong classroom management and communication skills, and be committed to creating a positive and engaging learning environment during this transitional period.
Key Responsibilities:
Teach five French courses, including Levels I–V/AP French
Deliver instruction aligned with existing curriculum and course expectations
Maintain continuity of instruction and classroom routines
Assess student learning and provide timely feedback
Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment
Communicate clearly with students, families, and colleagues as needed
Collaborate with the Modern & Classical Languages department to ensure smooth instructional continuity
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in French, World Languages, Education, or a related field
Experience teaching French, including upper-level and AP coursework preferred
Strong command of French language and Francophone cultures
Excellent communication, organization, and classroom management skills
Flexibility and professionalism in a long-term substitute role
