Hours: General hours of this position are 1:30 p.m. - 6:00 p.m Monday-Friday, plus one hour of additional remote work per day for substitute teacher coordination. Additional hours will be required during student holidays, professional days, and summer.

Position Summary:
St. Christopher’s School, the largest all-boys school in Virginia and one of the largest and oldest boys’ schools in the Mid-Atlantic region, seeks a creative and flexible administrative assistant for its Extended Day Program, a unique after-school opportunity for students to explore enriching academic, artistic, and athletic experiences.
Serving approximately 1,000 boys in Grades JK-12 in Richmond, Virginia, St. Christopher’s is an Episcopal school committed to cultivating a community that is diverse, inclusive and welcoming. The Extended Day program serves St. Christopher’s and St. Catherine’s students from both the lower and middle schools by providing an extensive after-school program in a safe and familiar setting on the St. Christopher’s campus.
Principal Responsibilities
Serve as an ambassador for the Extended Day program and act as a first point of contact when parents, students, and visitors arrive on campus
Coordinate all aspects of substitute coverage for Extended Day and Little Saints teachers (includes remote work)
Perform general office duties including answering multiple phone lines, creating documents and spreadsheets, photocopying, delivering messages, sending and responding to emails, texts, and voice messages
Manage the Extended Day email account and Extended Day phone and provide timely and effective communication to parents and teachers
Organize and facilitate daily carpools and pickups
Assist the Director with maintaining student, staff, and substitute teacher documentation in a professional and confidential manner to support programming, scheduling, licensure, and coordination with St. Catherine’s School for Extended Day and Little Saints
Develop and maintain strong working relationships with Extended Day and Little Saints team members and Lower School and Middle School faculty and staff
Oversee the hospitality committee and special events for Extended Day and Little Saints
Order supplies, maintain office equipment, and place maintenance repair requests
Ensure the Extended Day office and shared spaces are clean, organized, and welcoming
Assist teachers and staff nurse with sick or injured students and contact parents as needed
Work with staff nurse to maintain emergency and medical supplies and equipment
Provide coverage in Extended Day classrooms as needed

Customer service and administrative assistant experience preferred
Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines with strong attention to detail and time-management and problem-solving skills
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills and excellent written and oral communication skills
Exceptional judgment and ability to maintain confidentiality
Able to collaborate and/or work independently as needed and understand basic customer service concepts
Flexibility, the ability to multitask and prioritize projects effectively
Proficiency with CampBrain (training provided), Google Apps, Excel
CPR and First Aid certification
Physical Requirements:
Required to stand and walk outside for multiple hours daily for carpool and pick-up duty
Often required to work in poor weather conditions such as temperature, precipitation, and wind during carpool and pick-up duty
Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time
Ability to lift up to 25 pounds
