Fork Union Military Academy is a private, Christian, all-boys boarding military school located in the scenic heart of Central Virginia, serving grades 7–12 and postgraduate students.
The Academy is seeking a full-time Math Teacher to serve students in grades 7-12 and postgraduate level as assigned. This position is responsible for delivering clear, structured mathematics instruction in a college-preparatory environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Teach assigned math courses in grades 7-12 and postgraduate level as needed.
- Prepare lesson plans, tests, quizzes, and instructional materials.
- Grade assignments and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintain strong classroom standards and support student growth.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Participate in faculty meetings, department meetings, and school activities.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field.
- Strong content knowledge in secondary mathematics.
- Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively with adolescent boys in a structured environment.
- Will adhere to the mission of the school.
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior classroom teaching experience.
- Virginia teaching license strongly preferred.
- Master's degree in Mathematics, Education, or a related field preferred.
- Ability to contribute to advising, coaching, or student activities preferred.
Physical and Work Conditions
Work is performed primarily in a classroom setting and includes regular standing, walking, speaking, and student supervision.
