The Langley School, a PS-8 independent school in McLean, Virginia, seeks a substitute teacher to support a long-term leave from February to June for the 2025-2026 school year in its Lower School.

Our Lower School invites applications for a Long-Term Grade 1 Teacher. We are looking for a dedicated professional with a deep understanding of early childhood pedagogy and a proven ability to deliver engaging, differentiated instruction across content areas. The successful candidate will step into a well-established classroom culture, working closely with grade-level partners, lead teachers, and specialists to ensure instructional continuity and a high-caliber educational experience for every student.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree in education required, three to five years of previous experience working with children in learning environments, excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfort with integrating technology into the curriculum, interest in collaborating with colleagues, and a passion for working with children required.
