Position Classification: Part-time, 10-month, staff, hourly non-exempt (Approximately 900 hours per year)

Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Monday - Friday, plus two remote hours per day for substitute planning

Position Summary:

St. Christopher’s School, the largest all-boys school in Virginia and one of the largest and oldest boys’ schools in the Mid-Atlantic region, seeks a Lower School Administrative Assistant & Substitute Coordinator for the 2025-2026 school year.

Serving approximately 1,000 boys in Grades JK-12 in Richmond, Virginia, St. Christopher’s is an Episcopal school committed to cultivating a community that is diverse, inclusive and welcoming. Principal Responsibilities:

• Greet and assist all Lower School visitors
• Coordinate all aspects of substitute coverage for Lower School teachers
• Answer incoming phone calls to the Lower School reception desk and relay messages to administrators, teachers and students as needed
• Communicate with Lower School and Extended Day teachers, parents, and administrators as requests, questions and/or needs arise
• Complete daily tasks of office operation with other administrative assistant and Lower School nurse 
• Provide daily support for all teachers and students

Physical Requirements:

• Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time
• Must be able to move from classroom to classroom and from building to building as assigned or required by activity of the day
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds
