Classification: Exempt, 10-Month
Loudoun Country Day School (LCDS) is looking for an enthusiastic, talented educator to join our team as a lead teacher in first grade for the 2025-2026 Academic year.
This is a full-time position, and if hired, will teach Language Arts, Math, Science, and Social Studies to the students in their respective homeroom. The class size is limited to 16 students and includes a full-time teaching assistant to allow for differentiation and a high-quality student experience. They will also attend teacher workdays and meetings, and assume various duties commensurate with those of other LCDS full-time teachers.

The ideal candidate will have:
Bachelor’s degree is required (advanced degree is preferred), preferably in Education or one of the subjects that would be taught by the candidate (English, Math, Science, Social Studies)
Multiple years of experience teaching students in the age range of the grades the candidate would be teaching is required
Ability to connect and build positive relationships with children
Ability to work collaboratively as a member of a team
Growth mindset and willingness to seek professional development opportunities
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Comfort level using technology and incorporating it into teaching
