Position Classification: Part-time, 12-month, non-exempt
Hours:5 hours per day, Monday-Friday, with evening and weekend service as needed for School events

Position Summary:
St. Christopher’s School, the largest all-boys school in Virginia and one of the largest and oldest boys’ schools in the Mid-Atlantic region, seeks a Bookstore Assistant.
Serving approximately 1,000 boys in Grades JK-12 in Richmond, Virginia, St. Christopher’s is an Episcopal school committed to cultivating a community that is diverse, inclusive and welcoming. Principal Responsibilities:
Shows initiative by providing exceptional customer service
Builds strong relationships and establishes rapport with the community, including students, parents, staff, faculty, and alumni, to identify needs, interests, and trends
Helps the Bookstore Manager keep track of inventory as well as keep it organized and attractive for customers
Contributes to a positive work environment
Coordinates in-store promotional events, displays, and clearance merchandise
Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in related professional networks
Assists the Bookstore Manager to provide a safe and clean environment and maintains the stability and reputation of the store by complying with legal requirements

Sales experience, with knowledge of business operations such as retail sales, marketing, and budgeting preferred

Physical Requirements:
Regularly required to stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time
Must be able to lift up to 25+ pounds
Must be able to work during periods of inclement weather
