Grace Episcopal School is charged by the Vestry of Grace Episcopal Church to serve its community by providing a Christ-centered, co-educational school to children in preschool through Grade 5. An enrollment of 115 students, with 27% students of color are proximately located in the vibrant community of Alexandria, Virginia with a population over 158,000. Grace Episcopal School is nationally recognized and accredited by the Virginia Association of Independent Schools (VAIS) and is a member in a variety of educational associations such as NAES, NAIS, and AISGW.

The Position
In seeking its next Head of School, Grace Episcopal School is looking for a visionary early childhood and elementary leader with infectious enthusiasm and a leader of innovative teachers. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills will accompany the new leader who can inspire the confidence and respect of the entire school community. The next Head of School will be an exceptional manager, an example for all, and will lead strategic planning and achieve the strategic goals approved by the Board. The Head will present a case in the community attracting new families to enroll and new financial support for the School. The School seeks an individual who respects and celebrates diversity and will keep the Episcopal values of Grace Episcopal School and its parish paramount in decision making and direction. The next Head of School will assume office in July 2025.

Founded in 1959, Grace Episcopal School provides an academically challenging and developmentally appropriate education for children in Preschool through Grade 5. Our strong academic program emphasizes the basic tools of learning: reading, writing, and mathematics. The curriculum is varied - rich in music, literature, art, history, science, computers, physical education, and spiritual development – all taught in an enriching and nurturing environment. Our students receive personal attention in small classes and learn to be critical thinkers and successful problem solvers.
