The Admission Coordinator works closely with and reports directly to the Director of Admission to assure a meticulous, efficient, and responsive process during recruitment, evaluation and enrollment of students. This individual helps present Burgundy Farm Country Day School to prospective candidates and their families and works to attract and enroll a diverse group of children and families who will be well served by our Burgundy mission and philosophy.
Expectations
The Admission Coordinator must be a friendly, professional public face and cheerful, competent first contact for the school to support families throughout the admission process and act as a liaison between families, teachers and administrators. The Admission Coordinator supports all aspects of admission and takes primary responsibility for the management of student records and the records database. Planning and coordinating recruitment events is an essential part of the role in addition to other engagement strategies such as social media and preschool visits. The Admission Coordinator is organized and detail-oriented while multitasking within the demands of a fast-paced work environment and season-dependent changes.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Participate in all aspects of the admission and enrollment process, from inquiry through enrollment, and act as a liaison among teachers, families and the Director of Admission.
Maintain inquiry and applicant database, which includes processing all new applications and corresponding documentation.
Coordinate admission tours, applicant visits, open houses, and outreach events.
Process and respond to admission inquiries and applications utilizing the Veracross platform.
Assist with developing professional relationships with feeder schools and organizations to connect with Burgundy’s mission
Collaborate with faculty, alumni, and current parents on admission initiatives.
Collaborate in overarching strategic design and implementation of plans to attract, admit, yield, and retain qualified students, including working closely with the Communications and PR Director in helping advance marketing efforts as needed.
Attend admission recruitment, marketing, and other special events, both on and off campus, which may include weekends and evenings.
Serve as member of the diversity committee, helping to keep DEI at the forefront of the admission process.
Assist in coordination of student ambassadors, parent ambassadors and mentor families for enrollee families new to Burgundy.
Other administrative tasks and duties, including mailing, filing, copying, etc.
Qualifications
Two years of professional experience in a customer service or office environment, including admissions experience (preferred).
Knowledge of independent school environments and practices.
Strong interpersonal skills and exceptional oral and written communication skills.
Knowledge of basic marketing and design concepts and programs such as Canva.
Understanding of marketing principles.
Self-starter with a high degree of motivation and keen attention to detail.
High degree of professionalism with sound judgment and excellent interpersonal skills.
Ability to articulate the benefits of an independent school education.
Detail-oriented and possess strong organizational skills
Able to work with diverse groups of people, children, and adults.
Able to keep confidential information.
Proficient with typing and data entry and use of mail merges.
Knowledge of Windows, Word and Excel.
Working conditions:
This is a full-time, 10 month position.
The work day begins at 8:00 a.m. and ends at 4:30 p.m.
Occasional weekends and evenings are regular occurrences of the Admissions duties.
Campus is 26-acres with a variety of terrain and elevations and requires a\walking and standing for long periods of time.
The work is a combination of indoor and outdoor activities.
