Position Description:
The Director of Advancement leads all efforts to maintain, perpetuate and grow the school’s financial and public profile. The Director of Advancement oversees communications, alumni, annual fund, and events personnel and reports to the Head of School.

- Help support the mission of the school and foster an atmosphere of respect, responsibility, and safety in every endeavor.
- Communicate positively and in an open manner, both in writing and in speaking, to the Burgundy Community.
- Contribute positively to the professional, mission-focused ‘sense of community’ with all school constituents.
Responsibilities include:
- Direct and coordinate the strategic planning and implementation of fund-raising programs to support the institution, including: annual fund; planned giving; campaigns; corporate and foundation giving.
- Supervise planning and execution for major events such as the Auction and Fall Fair, utilizing staff and volunteer leadership.
- Develop and coordinate all aspects of the major gifts campaign.
- Keep the Head of School and Board of Trustees informed on a regular basis of the fund-raising and Advancement activities.
- Maintain and increase alumni and parental support of, and involvement in, the institution
- Oversee a coordinated publications and communications program that will communicate most effectively with school constituencies, including alumni.
- Maintain a complete program of research, cultivation, and stewardship, leading to solicitation of key giving prospects.
- Supervise marketing and public relations programs to promote the school.
- Serve as staff liaison for the Advancement and Communications Committees of the Board of Trustees, the Parents’ Association, and the Alumni Association.
- Oversee processing of all gift income for the purpose of providing receipts and the maintaining of giving records of donors to the school.
- Develop and lead a professional and volunteer staff to carry out the activities of this office.
- Support the school and its leadership and perform other duties as assigned by the Head of School.
