Tandem Friends School, a co-ed, Quaker, 5th-12th grade independent day school in Charlottesville, Virginia, seeks an experienced Upper School Math Teacher for the 2022-23 school year.

Teaching responsibilities are likely to include a combination of classes ranging from Geometry to Calculus. Ideal candidates will be both capable of and comfortable with teaching students of a wide range of age, maturity and ability levels. Experience working with high school students and facility with online tools and pedagogies are important qualifications. Candidates should have a comfort with and/or willingness to learn classroom technologies that support a variety of models of teaching.

At TFS, all teachers are active community members who share in the general support and care of the school community, serve as student advisors, chaperone overnight trips, and participate in a wide range of community activities.

Tandem Friends seeks teachers who bring diverse skills and knowledge, a willingness to learn new things, and an appreciation for collaboration with students.  Qualified candidates will hold a Bachelor’s degree with a concentration in mathematics, computer science, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred but not required.
