Trinity Episcopal School is seeking an energetic, passionate individual for a full time, benefited position as an IB Photography teacher within the Visual Arts Department beginning in the 2021-2022 school year.
The position requires working with students and colleagues in an open and collaborative environment within the Visual Arts Department, the IB curriculum and the larger school community. The teacher will actively use a variety of instructional strategies to engage students’ critical thinking, including the innovative use of technology.

Requiring critical thinking, discipline, and self-reflection -- art offers experiences in developing one’s authentic voice, problem solving, developing a sense of self, stepping beyond one's comfort zone, and aids in developing confidence through accomplishment.
To that end, every student at Trinity Episcopal School is required to take classes in the arts. The school's photography course offerings include beginner to advanced courses in analog photography, digital photography, mixed media, and alternative image-based processes. Students can engage in a singular semester of photography or can pursue it throughout their time at the school.
This candidate will be responsible for teaching the photography courses offered including the International Diploma Programme (IB) Visual Arts level. They will work collaboratively with the other Visual Arts instructors to maintain curriculum alignment and for department-wide visual arts programming such as art shows and display of student work throughout the school. Additionally they will be responsible for managing the studio budget and maintaining the equipment in the studio.
Qualifications:
Commitment to a holistic, process oriented approach to teaching art
BA or BFA; previous teaching experience in a secondary school or higher education is preferred
Practical experience and highly developed instructional skills including but not limited to analog and digital photography
Strong background in Art History and Fundamentals of Art preferred
Good stewardship of studio space and materials, management of studio budget and maintenance of studio equipment
IB DP teacher experience preferred but good applicants with other curricular experience are also welcome to apply
Engagement with and contributing to a vibrant, collaborative, and supportive group of colleagues
