We are a gospel-centered community of faith and learning committed to the formation of the whole person through a rich and humane education. Faculty and staff understand their work as a Christian vocation. They take personal responsibility for students’ intellectual, spiritual, and personal growth, and work together to cultivate a community of scholars in which students are known, supported, and appropriately challenged.
Position Overview
The Hickory Campus Front Desk Receptionist serves as a welcoming and steady presence within the daily life of the school. Often the first point of contact for students, families, and visitors, the receptionist extends hospitality while helping support the rhythms, communications, and operations that sustain the school day. Working closely with campus administration and fellow staff members, the receptionist helps create an environment that is orderly, attentive, and responsive to the needs of the Hickory Campus community.
We are seeking an individual who enjoys working in a dynamic school environment and who brings warmth, sound judgment, and attentiveness to daily interactions. The role requires strong communication and organizational skills, the ability to manage multiple responsibilities with care and flexibility, and a commitment to professionalism, discretion, and service. Applicants must relate well to adolescents and embrace the "noisy exuberance of their youth" with empathy and patience while helping maintain the structure and routines that support school life.

Compile student attendance data each day for grades 6-12; generate and distribute the daily attendance report
Mastery of school policies and organizational roles in order to communicate or direct concerns to the appropriate personnel
Support the function of the Hickory school nurse, assisting with medication distribution as needed
Primary Responsibilities (cont’d)
Support the administration in safety and emergency protocols, including intruder, Code ANA, severe weather, and fire alarm protocols/drills
Work with faculty and administration to order and maintain workroom (e.g. copy paper) and classroom supplies
Monitor functioning of campus photocopiers and serve as primary contact with copier service company
Enter Hickory Campus purchase orders
Use the intercom system to communicate messages to campus or to page students from classrooms as needed
Program the campus bell system
Assist fellow support staff members and administration in other tasks as needed/assigned
We welcome candidates whose experiences and backgrounds enrich this shared work within a community shaped by a shared commitment to the school’s Christian mission and educational vision.
