The St. Stephen’s & St. Agnes School is looking for a Part time Learning Specialist for the lower school for the 2017-2018 school year. This is a 75% position that includes benefits. The person in this position should possess a strong understanding of myriad learning challenges and be able to develop and implement a strategic vision to enhance learning for all students. This role entails meeting with small groups of students, supporting homeroom teachers in differentiating instruction to meet the needs of all students, collaborating with administrators and another learning specialist, performing informal screenings, and meeting with parents to discuss student progress.
Ideal candidates will have a Master’s degree in Special Education or Learning Disabilities as well as experience working with and providing appropriate instructional support for elementary aged children. Applicants should have experience interpreting and implementing recommendations from psycho-educational reports as well as performing informal assessments themselves. Applicants should possess a positive, nurturing demeanor and a collaborative nature and a demonstrated ability to develop sensitive and supportive relationships with faculty, parents, and students.
