The Covenant School is seeking a Middle School History teacher who is passionate about teaching and learning. Applicants who have teaching experience and a bachelor’s degree in History as well as an education degree are preferred.
This person is responsible for:
Naturally integrating a biblical worldview into the study of history.
Developing an integrated history curriculum within a Christian Liberal Arts and Science framework.
Creating a classroom environment conducive to learning and appropriate to both the maturity of the students and the established mission of the school.
Performing other related duties as directed by the Head of the Lower School.
Qualified candidates will have a commitment to Covenant’s historic, orthodox Christian principles; a genuine passion for and experience working with middle-school students; the ability to communicate clearly and establish effective, working relationships with students, parents, teachers, and staff; the ability to adapt instruction to the needs of various levels of students in the same classroom; interest in and ability to practice Socratic teaching methods; and a strong background in History. The person must also be comfortable sharing his/her faith with students.
