Norfolk Collegiate School seeks qualified candidates for the Director of Finance and Operations position. The Director of Finance and Operations is responsible for overseeing all financial activities of the school, including facilities and operations. This person assists the Headmaster in preparing the annual budget, setting the school's tuition, and developing both short and long-term financial plans. The Director of Finance and Operations oversees the school's facilities, including planning for expanded facilities and the repair and maintenance of the school's campus. This position is the coordination authority with the Chairmen of the Finance, Building and Grounds, and Investment Committees. The Director of Finance and Operations supervises the Controller, Facilities Manager, and Information Technology Manager.
Experience and Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in business, management or accounting required; Master’s Degree preferred
Demonstrated strength in financial management; non-profit accounting experience preferred
Management experience required; independent school management experience preferred
Solid analytical, technical, organizational and planning skills with excellent attention to detail
Demonstrated effectiveness in collaborative leadership and management
Comfort with multitasking and prioritizing projects
Knowledge of best practices in Financial, Human Resources and Facilities management
Flexibility, adaptability, sense of humor and a desire and ability to be a role model to faculty, staff, students, parents and other stakeholders
