Tandem Friends School, a co-ed, Quaker, 5th-12th grade independent day school in Charlottesville, Virginia, anticipates an opening for an experienced, full-time Upper School Latin teacher to begin teaching in the 2018-19 school year.
At Tandem Friends School, Latin is required during the sixth and seventh grade years; students then opt for Latin, French, or Spanish in the eighth-grade year and continue their course of study in Upper School.
The ideal candidate will possess:
• 3-5 years of teaching experience
• a relevant advanced degree
• a strong understanding of the developmental needs of high school students
• experience with student-centered teaching and learning practices
• a collaborative, inclusive approach to all aspects of school life
