The Steward School seeks 2 enthusiastic and committed Spanish teachers for the academic year 2017-2018. These are full-time, fully benefited faculty positions reporting to the Director of the Upper School and to the Director of the Middle School.
Core duties for these positions include teaching 5 sections of Spanish (1A-AP), ability to teach in target language to create a full classroom immersion experience, full participation in school life (including advisory and faculty duties), technological proficiency in the classroom, and familiarity with differentiated learning instruction.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and major concentration in Spanish and/or Education is required, Master’s or higher and Virginia certification is preferred.
3-5 years classroom experience including Spanish levels 1A - AP
Technological proficiency in the classroom including Google Educational apps, interactive whiteboards, and electronic grade books.
Familiarity with differentiated learning instruction.
Coaching or club experience is a plus.
Required Abilities and Skills:
A native or near native language proficiency.
Strong communication and collaborative skills.
Microsoft Office proficient, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; Google Education and Rubicon a plus.
Proven ability to exercise mature judgment and maintain confidentiality.
