The Steward School seeks an enthusiastic and committed Upper School English teacher for the academic year 2018-2019. This is a full-time, fully benefitted faculty position reporting to the Director of the Upper School. Start date is August 14, 2018.
Core duties for this position include teaching 5 sections of Upper School English, technological proficiency in the classroom; familiarity with differentiated learning instruction, and full participation in school life (including advisory and faculty duties).
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree and major concentration in English and/or Education is required, Master’s or higher and Virginia certification is preferred.
3-5 years classroom experience, independent school experience a plus.
Technological proficiency in the classroom including Google Educational apps, interactive whiteboards, and electronic grade books.
Familiarity with differentiated learning instruction.
Coaching or club experience is a plus.
Required Abilities and Skills:
Strong communication and collaborative skills.
Microsoft Office proficient, including Word, Excel, and Outlook; Google Education and Rubicon a plus.
Proven ability to exercise mature judgment and maintain confidentiality.
