Benedictine College Preparatory is a Catholic school loyal to the Magisterium of the Church and dedicated to its mission: to form Cadets as Christian men of conscience, discipline and achievement. Our curriculum and standards are established to prepare our graduates for study at a quality four-year institution of higher learning. Benedictine was founded in 1911, under the name of Benedictine College, by a group of Benedictine monks from Belmont Abbey in North Carolina. The Richmond monks adopted the successful and prestigious military academy model for Benedictine, in order to promote a disciplined approach to studies and virtue, meshing well with the monastic lifestyle.
