Commonwealth Academy, a grade 3-12 independent school in Alexandria, VA, is currently seeking candidates to teach high school physics and upper level math for the 2018-19 school year.
Commonwealth is seeking candidates who are flexible and creative with a sense of humor and a strong work ethic. Qualified candidates must have strong communication and writing skills and be proficient with technology. Must demonstrate knowledge of current instructional behavior management techniques, assistive aids, curriculum scope and sequence, content area, and special education best practices.
Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred along with the ability to teach at an AP level.
Candidate must be certified in content area or achieve certification within two years of hire, as required by the Virginia Department of Education. Certification in Special Education also preferred.
