Episcopal High School is seeking a Major Gifts / Alumni Engagement Officer to support all aspects of alumni engagement and giving. Reporting to the Director of Alumni and Parent Programs, the officer is responsible for engagement and fund raising for alumni in a cohort of approximately twenty classes. The individual will cultivate and steward donors and volunteers with personal visits and achieve annual fund goals for class participation and level of giving. Success in this role will be critical to achievement of Episcopal’s next comprehensive campaign, which will be the largest in the School’s history.
Execute annual giving strategy for cohort of approximately 20 classes;
Manage a portfolio of 125 prospects for leadership level annual fund and capital campaign gifts with the following monthly targets:
Identify new prospects for planned gift and major capital gift solicitation;
Support gift program for four reunion classes each year; and
Staff key advancement events such as regional receptions, Spirit Weekend, Reunion Weekend.
Summary of Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree with a minimum of eight years of professional experience, preferably in non-profit/educational fundraising;
Experience soliciting planned gifts;
Exceptional interpersonal/relationship building skills;
Strong written, verbal, and listening skills;
Attention to detail and organizational skills;
Personal belief in the mission of independent boarding schools;
Desire to join a high-functioning and collaborative team;
Willingness to travel an average of 2-3 times per month; and
High level of computer literacy and competence required – particularly related to Raiser’s Edge database and software for reporting, calendars, and timelines.
